How to do it

  1. Open RMM, then Devices.

    Look at the Health column.

  2. Hover an icon to see the detail.

It says how many updates are waiting. It says how many alerts are open and what they are called. It says how far behind the agent is. The dot at the left of the row and the mark in the Agent column hover too.

  3. Know the six icons.

An up arrow means updates are waiting to install. A box with an X means third party app updates are broken on that machine. A triangle means an open alert. It is red when the alert is critical. A circle arrow means a newer agent version is out. A cloud with a down arrow means a reinstall is required. A muted pause means someone held agent updates on that device. The hover says who and when.

  4. Press Filters to list machines with the same mark.

Each icon has a matching filter.

  5. To check a warranty, press Filters. Pick a Warranty option.

This list has no warranty column. Open a device to see its end date. It turns amber in the last 90 days. It turns red once the date has passed.

  6. To ask the maker right now, open the device and press Refresh.

Once a device has an answer, we leave it for 30 days.

What you will have

  • Read the icons in the Health column.
  • Filter the list to every machine with the same mark.
  • Find a device's warranty end date.
  • Tell Not checked from No record.

Why it works this way: How to read device health icons and warranty dates

An empty Health cell means nothing is wrong on that machine. Each icon is one thing that needs a look.

The warranty date comes from the maker. A tech does not type it. We ask Dell, Lenovo and HP once a day, and only for a device with a serial number.

If it did not work: How to read device health icons and warranty dates

  • A cloud with a down arrow: the machine runs the agent under its old name. A technician installs the GoTenix Agent on it once by hand.
  • A device says Not checked: we never asked. No maker is set up yet, or the device has no serial number. The brand may not be one of our three. The nightly job may not have reached it.
  • A device says No record: we did ask. The maker had nothing for that serial number.
  • You can filter on either one. Press Filters, then pick a Warranty option.
  • The device page also has a Warranty Expires field. A tech fills that one in by hand. A lookup never writes over it.
