How to do it
Open Settings. Go to AI Assistant, then Actions & Automation. Find Allow AI apps to connect (MCP).
This switch is off until someone turns it on. Your portal admin turns it on here. While it is off, AI apps can't find your portal.
Turn on Allow AI apps to connect (MCP).
Turning it off later closes the address again.
Open the Connect an AI app card right after the switch.
The card says: Connect Claude or ChatGPT to this portal. The app can do only what you can do, and only what you allow when you connect it. If the switch is still off, the card tells you to turn it on first. If your portal has no web address set, the card shows no MCP address. Set the Portal Base URL in Settings, then Company, then Domains & URLs first.
Copy the Portal MCP address.
The card shows it with a copy button. The card also shows a Sign-in discovery address. Most apps find this on their own. Paste it only if an app asks for it.
To use Claude, pick the Claude tab on the card and follow its three steps.
1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Choose Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it first. Look under Organization settings. Then pick Connectors. 2. Paste the Portal MCP address, choose Add, then choose Connect. 3. You come back to this portal. Sign in, tick only what you want the app to change, and press Allow. The card says these menu names were read on November 1, 2026. If they have moved, look for Connectors in Claude's settings.
To use ChatGPT, pick the ChatGPT tab on the card and follow its three steps.
1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. Your ChatGPT plan or workspace admin may need to allow this first. 2. Give it a name, paste the Portal MCP address under Connection, choose OAuth, and create it. 3. Install it. When it sends you to this portal, sign in, tick only what you want the app to change, and press Allow. The card says these menu names were read on November 1, 2026. If they have moved, look for custom MCP servers in ChatGPT's settings.
On the portal's Connect an AI app screen, read who is asking first.
The screen says the app wants to connect to your portal and act as you. It shows which portal, the address you go back to when you finish, and the name and email you connect as. A Known app badge means the address belongs to a vendor the portal knows. An Unknown app badge means the portal does not know the app. Only connect it if you started this yourself.
Warning: Connect only apps you started connecting yourself. Never tick change access because someone sent you a link or asked you to.Choose what the app can change.
The screen has two lists. It can read: the app can look at these areas, as you. Reading changes nothing. It can change (only what you tick): the app can make changes in these areas, but only where you tick. Nothing that makes changes is ticked for you. Select all ticks every access the app asked for, changes included. Clear all unticks everything. Check the list before you press Allow.
Press Allow.
Cancel connects nothing, and the app gets no access. Some accounts are Owner or Super Admin accounts. For those, the screen first asks for a code from your authenticator app. When it works, the screen says Connected. Go back to your app.
Know what the app can never do.
The portal says it on the screen. The app can never see vault passwords or secrets. It can never manage API keys. It can never manage your team's accounts, roles and sign-ins. It can never change owner settings or billing.
Open Settings, then Security. Then open Access & Sessions. Find the Connected apps card.
It lists AI apps you allowed to work in the portal as you. Each row shows the app and the person. It also shows if the app is known, its access, and when it connected. It shows when the app was last used, and the last IP address. The Connect an AI app card also shows how many apps are connected. It has an Open Connected apps link.
To disconnect an app, choose Disconnect on its row and confirm.
The app loses access right away. Its next request fails. To use it again, connect it again from the app. You can disconnect your own apps. Someone who can delete API keys can disconnect anyone's. They are not told.
What you will have
- Turn on the switch that lets AI apps find your portal.
- Copy the Portal MCP address from the Connect an AI app card.
- Add the portal to Claude or ChatGPT as a custom connector.
- Choose what the app may change on the consent screen.
- See your connected apps, and disconnect one.
Why it works this way: How to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your portal (MCP)
The app works as you. It can do only what you can already do in GoTenix, and only what you allow when you connect it.
Every action it takes is in the audit log.
Changes run right away, with your permissions. If you lose a permission, the app loses it too.
If it did not work: How to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your portal (MCP)
- If the app says the address was not found, Allow AI apps to connect (MCP) is off. Turn it on, then connect again.
- If the portal shows Unknown app, it does not know the app's return address. The app still connects. Connect only an app you started connecting yourself.
- If the portal says your account can't connect AI apps, ask an admin. You need the Connect AI Apps (MCP) right.
